Snapchat Steps Up it's Game for Businesses

Yesterday Snapchat launched a new discovery tool and it makes the social platform more appealing for businesses, introducing ‘Context Cards.’


HOW IT WORKS

Think Yelp integrated with Snapchat...but more. If a Snap user has a geofilter on snap, viewers can swipe up to see more information surrounding the location. Say a user snaps a picture of a delicious meal at a hot new restaurant in town and ads the geofilter. You can swipe up on the geofilter and be presented with a good amount of information about the restaurant including reviews, reservation booking, business hours, directions, etc.. You can even book a ride via Lyft to the location.


Snapchat has partnered with OpenTable, Foursquare, OpenTable, TripAdvisor, and Lyft to provide the information and functionality of the Context Cards. According to SnapChat the list of partners will grow, which will only enhance Context Cards for it’s users (and in turn, businesses).
